Michael's interest in real estate was first piqued during the banking crisis of the 1980s and 90s. While others shied away from the pressure on residenDal and commercial real estate values, he took to heart Warren Buffet's advice to be "fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful." It's a bold mindset that has fueled his success since he entered the profession. Before real estate, Michael honed his business and financial acumen on Wall Street. He began at Deutsche Bank as a consultant prior to joining the Equity DerivaDves Business. With a first to arrive/last to leave mentality and consistent posiDve results, Michael progressed through the firm's ranks to become the head of Contract Risk of Equity DerivaDves in New York. He credits the experience for his savvy understanding of real estate analyDcs and his intuiDve feel for undervalued assets — invesDng with a skewed risk profile to the upside. A Brooklyn naDve and lifelong New York City resident, Michael graduated magna cum laude from Binghamton University with a bachelor's degree in financial economics. He also earned an MBA with disDncDon from the Mario Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University and obtained cerDficates in commercial and residenDal property management from NYU's School of Professional Studies. When he's not hard at work with clients, Michael enjoys tennis, skiing, squash, volleyball, travel and, most of all, being a father of two gentlemen and scholars.
