Discussion about
Hi all, Head count for the SE get-together? Wednesday May 12, 7ish, at XR Bar, 128 West Houston St (NE corner of Sullivan &) Reasonably quiet, uncrowded, unpretentious. No food, but they're good about letting you bring/order in, and even provide various local menus. See http://streeteasy.com/nyc/talk/discussion/18956-may-2010-se-mixer?page=1 for earlier, very rambling discussion. Who's in?
Me.
.
At least half of the people who show are always surprises. Im in.
you had your chance alan :)
have fun guys and ladies...
I´ll miss u guys.
Free side cars!!! Count me in.
xr
when does one of 'these' happen UPTOWN!!
later
.
I'm going to try. Wouldn't want to see you there alone, stuck in a side car duel with dreamer.
i'll be there. i'm already predicting late night pizza and jazz at arturos next door, when the sidecars start getting lonely in the stomach. looking forward to seeing you guys!
glamma, no need to wait until the stomach has started producing excess acid. XR has arturo's menu at the bar. easy enough to dispatch a couple of people to pick up some pizza.
weird, this thread just disappeared. i'll try again.
my fault, somehow i accidentally put AH on ignore.
"accidentally"!!!
I'm in.
I would love to be there because I would love to get a little dish on the troll incident. I have a little dish of my own on that subject. But, alas, I will be in LA. Have fun and please take notes.
apt23, very sorry you won't be there, but if you have the email addy of anyone who will, please send your little dish on "that subject", to be read at the mixer.
I shall try; got something else, but will hopefully be able to make it.
Nada I hope you can make it. I've got about 47 finance questions for ya.
I shall be in attendance. Looking forward to seeing the familiar faces again and meeting the new ones. Place is pleasant, conducive to conversation and the pizza next door is yummy. Plus I can't wait to try my first side car...oh the anticipation of virginity soon to be lost.
1. Buy low, sell high.
2. Never get involved in a land war in Asia.
...
Thanks Nada, endless wisdom.
I have a REALLY long list of things to do today, but if I get through 'em (or enough of 'em to constitute a good college try) I'll be there.

Remember folks, its rain or shine.
Drizzle, even.
have fun you guys. let us shut ins know how it goes.
jasonkyle, call Access-A-Sidecar to give you a lift.
Me, I'm in!
Awesome evnyc. Personally I'm sitting here in back pain hell with a big decision on my hands. Yes, I'm still planning on attending but here's my dilemma: Gut it out and avail myself to the promised, sidecar experience or take a vicodin and limit myself to seltzer. I know there are those who would answer "c all of the above" but I'm not interested in being the first person to leave an SE mixed in an ambulance.
That would be an SE mixer not mixed
evnyc, I'm glad we hooked you in by spamming other threads!
liz, we'll cause you pain that'll make you forget your back. [Have you tried that acupuncture school clinic at Bway & 22nd or so? ... not free, but cheap cheap sliding scale. It's like yoga without the work.]
Liz, come now - you know the answer is always "c." I'll catch you if you fall off the bar stool.
alan, I've been scarce on the boards lately for reasons I shall divulge this evening, but I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone!
Can't make it. Sorry.
Well, I had a nice family dinner but I want a full report. Who left with who?
I got the short straw, so I got to leave with the Grand Prize.
This venue was really great for our purposes -- the best of the five we've tried so far.
Glad it worked out great Alan!
it was great to see everyone. sidecars with arturo's pizza is a winning combination. nicely done alan.
Yea yea yea Great Job Alan. Actually, the award should go to Mrs. Nada. She kept Nada in line and saved him from making a fool of himself like last time.
Well put. I'm surprised you were able to get up this early ;).
what happened last time?
Sorry I missed you guys. Something came up. :(
I thought I was feeling better when I woke up this morning. (God what a novel concept, feeling better the morning after a party) but now I'm back in painsville. Decided to try another pharma approach which if mixed with vicodin could result in a Heath Ledger cocktail. Hope for some success....
It was great to see everyone (except Matt, I'm really sorry you didn't make it as I was particularly interested in meeting you in person). Lobster glad you showed up! Did anything "interesting" happen after my premature exit?
Thanks, Liz.
As usual, I overscheduled myself for the evening. I was planning on just doing a quick hello-and-goodbye at an event near Grand Central Terminal, but it turned into something much more involved than I'd planned. By the time I got out, it was already after 9:30 PM.
nope, i think i have a sinus infection
I missed Sra. Nada? D*mn.
As predicted, the tidal wave of work swamped me (I've got three active offers going, plus a meeting with my "book shrink" on Friday) but I promise with 95% certainty to hit the next one.
ali
It was very nice meeting everyone at the meet-up. As I told evnyc, I have to change my SE name from lobster to some variation of my real name (Michelle) because I can't introduce myself to one more person as lobster. :) Liz, I was really glad to finally meet you and, NYCDreamer, I will buy you a drink at the next meet-up.
