I have two kids elementary school age....are there any good schools nearby?

PS 17 is supposed to be a very good school. It's on North 5th, I believe.

actually just read on insideschools.org about it....99% of the kids qualify for free lunch......
oh well. that's my challenge for my kids...manhattan has better schools...just won't have a choice of new shiny apt building...still love manhattan for the choices....

17 has added many new students. The demographic has changed. PS84 has a great pre-k program. PS 132 is a great school too and has a gifted and talented program.

There is a wonderful parents group called brooklynbabyhui on yahoo for williamsburg parents. it's a great area to raise kids.
