Sean Murphy Turner, Executive Vice President, has been marketing and selling dramatic lofts, townhouses and some of the most sought-after homes in Manhattan's most dynamic neighborhoods for over 17 years. Upon Joining Stribling in 1995, Sean immediately focused on her home turf of Tribeca, where she has owned her own loft since 1983. A well respected broker representing buyers and sellers alike in the resale market, both uptown and downtown, Sean has compiled an impressive list of satisfied clients and record-breaking transactions. She is often quoted in the press, and was one of the few listed as a “hot shot broker” by New York Magazine.
In addition to her real estate career, Sean has been active in community affairs and fundraising, most notably as chair for three years of Taste of Tribeca, the world-class food event which raises funds for the enrichment programs for PS 234 and PS 150.
By 1997, Sean had successfully sold out 39 Vestry Street, the first Stribling-represented loft conversion in the Soho/Tribeca area. In the following years, she represented some of downtown’s most highly regarded development projects, including the Fisher Mills Building at 62 Beach Street, 124 Hudson Street, 42 White Street, 147 Waverly Place and 116 Hudson Street. In 2005, Sean was involved with initial concepts, layout, design, pricing strategies and marketing for the Plaza Residences.
Smyth Upstairs at 85 West Broadway, 145 Hudson in Tribeca and 211 Elizabeth Street in Nolita are Sean’s most recent development offerings. The Roman and Williams-designed apartments at 211 Elizabeth Street have received unanimous praise from the New York media for the beautiful façade and interiors, which pay homage to the great Rosario Candela pre-war buildings. The 7,400 SF Skylofts penthouse, which sold and closed for $30 million, set a record as the highest-price co-op or condominium sale south of 58th Street in Manhattan.
New to the market for fall 2011 is the highly anticipated 130 West 12, a 42-unit building developed by Rudin Family Development located in the West Village.
In addition to possessing an innate ability to sell property and close the deal, Sean brings to the table a great skill for conceptualizing a project and devising innovative marketing schemes. Her successful Skylofts concept, originally applied to 145 Hudson Street, has been widely copied and can now be found in half a dozen cities across America. She understands the nuances involved in pricing strategy and inventory control, and she provides a keen understanding of space, design and practical construction considerations.
Formerly an actress, singer and dancer with Broadway, television and film credits, Sean moved to New York City from Kansas after graduating with a BFA from the University of Kansas. Today, she successfully employs the creativity, confidence, persistence and people skills she fine-tuned in the acting community in the equally competitive field of real estate marketing and sales.
