Like most civic centers, Manhattan's is home to numerous official buildings, such as City Hall, One Police Plaza, and a handful of courthouses. It's also been a backdrop for countless episodes of "Law and Order." Residential areas within Civic Center are limited, though pricey and popular Tribeca lies just on the other side of Broadway.
