If you’re looking for a luxury rental on 125th Street in the heart of bustling Harlem, just steps from the historic Apollo Theater, you might set your eyes on the first units offered in the Bailey Lofts at 271 125th Street.

With a total of 30 units slated to hit the market, the redevelopment project above Duane Reade looks to be a hot property, complete with a virtual doorman system and in-unit washers and dryers.

The 1-bedroom units now available range from $2,730 per month up to $3,100, while the 2-bedroom units run from $3,220 up to $5,950 for the penthouse, which appears to be a sprawling unit with a terrace. The first 10 units came up for rent this week.

The Bailey Lofts join a growing number of high-end residential developments on and around historic 125th Street. The Harlem 125 is another new, 75-unit rental building with units ready for lease. It’s located at 69 East 125th Street and offers smaller studios and 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units than the Bailey Lofts.

Keller Williams’ Allan Gewurtz is the listing agent for the available units. He may already be fielding inquiries on the new development, since his voicemail was full when we called for a comment.

At the Bailey Lofts, square footage per unit ranges from 575 up to 1,170, with many of the lines firmly above 700 square feet. A few units have 1.5 or 2 bathrooms, according to the Washington, D.C.-based development company UHOP Properties.

All units contain soaring ceilings, oversized, operable windows, hardwood floors, streamlined kitchens with gray and white cabinets, Corian counter tops, porcelain tile baths and stainless steel appliances, UHOP says. The building is pet-friendly and has an elevator and a roof deck.
