As Beyoncé says: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But what might the entertainer say about her usual summer rental in the Hamptons welcoming some other millionaire this summer?
The estate that Jay-Z and Beyoncé have so famously rented is at 612 Halsey Road in Bridgehampton. Set on 11 acres and sprawling 25,000 square feet of royalty-worthy interior space, this isn’t a summer rental for a group of publishing industry interns to share. This is a granddaddy kind of summer house that will cost $500K for the month-of-July rental. That’s a bit more than the $450K Jay & Bey spent to luxuriate there in 2012. And who knows, the superstar duo — whose marriage is getting new scrutiny courtesy of Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” — may be back in August. Notice that the home is only available for July, as Beyoncé will take a break from her world tour between her Barcelona date on August 3 and her return to the road on Sept. 7.
Goodness knows the couple may need more time to keep their marriage heading in the right direction. Jay-Z’s alleged infidelity is the main driver behind Beyoncé’s latest creative offering, which is said to have had more than 100 helping hands write and produce. The “Formation” tour supporting her sixth studio release has been a critical success so far, with reviewers bowing down to Queen Bey as an artist at the top of her game. That has not stopped some controversy, notably from police departments in some cities like Pittsburgh that have said they wouldn’t work security for Beyoncé’s concerts over what they call anti-police undertones of her song “Formation.”
Regardless, Beyoncé is on the road and the outrageously huge Hamptons home she and Jay helped put on that map is up for grabs for prime time this July. With 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, maybe 12 summertime roomies could cobble together $41,666 each to pay the freight.
