Known for its thriving art scene, Chelsea Market (the food hall that started it all), the High Line, and more…Chelsea has become a much-loved — and fairly expensive — Manhattan neighborhood. Median asking prices are often more than $1 million above those of the rest of the borough, but there are still great deals to be found in the six-figure range, like 345 W. 21st St. #3B. Our Deal of the Week is 1-bedroom with gorgeous finishes and an updated kitchen and bathroom.

Why You’ll Love It…
This unit boasts several recent upgrades, including the electric, plumbing, and windows, which were all updated in 2018. The solid white oak floors are insulated and soundproofed, so you can worry less about being a noisy upstairs neighbor. Plus, the appliances in the kitchen are new, including an integrated dishwasher, electric cooktop, and 24-inch oven and speed microwave combo. Open shelving adds some stylish storage to the kitchen as well.
You’ll find whitewashed brick along one whole wall of the unit, extending from the living area to the kitchen to the bedroom. Speaking of the bedroom, it can easily accommodate a queen bed and boasts a large window and sizable closet. The sliding barn door doubles as a closet door, helping to save space. For even more storage, there’s another closet in the living area by the entrance.
Last but not least, the bathroom offers a spa-like experience thanks to the curbless shower with glass doors, rainfall showerhead, patterned floor tile, and black fixtures.
Located in prime Chelsea, the building is mere blocks away from draws like Chelsea Market, the High Line, and Chelsea Piers, in addition to countless art galleries, restaurants, boutiques, and bars. Leaving the neighborhood, or even getting to/from Jersey City or Hoboken, is easy with the A, C, E, L, 1, 2, and PATH trains all nearby. The co-op building allows co-purchasing, parents buying, and gifting on a case-by-case basis.
…And Why You Might Not
This apartment is definitely on the smaller side. The kitchen has an under-counter fridge and freezer, which are a bit awkward and won’t fit as much food as a standard refrigerator. There’s also a pole in the middle of the kitchen that will take some getting used to. Lastly, the building doesn’t have an elevator, and the unit is on the third floor — not ideal, but could be worse!
That said, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better deal in Chelsea at this price point!
