Update, April 6, 2020: A power couple as mighty as John Legend and Chrissy Teigen does not settle for just one gorgeous NYC penthouse — they obviously need a couple! That’s right, the Real Deal reports that this adorable celebrity pair have just closed on their second penthouse in Nolita’s Brewster Carriage House at 374 Broome Street. (They bought the first back in 2018; see below.) The asking price was $7,995,000 when the home went into contract back in December. The sale price has not been recorded yet, but it closed on March 19 for a reported $7.7 million. In any case, wow.
The 3,500-square-foot home features original exposed brick and cast-iron columns, with three bedrooms, two spa-like full baths, and two powder rooms. The triplex is connected by an absolute showstopper of a staircase. The intricate wrought-iron railing starts on the main level, which houses an expansive living, dining, and kitchen area as well as an ensuite bedroom. It then weaves its way up to the second level’s living space, home office/third bedroom, and master suite. (Don’t worry, there’s ample closet space for the fashionable family’s many ensembles!)
These stupendous stairs culminate with the private third-floor terrace. Holy cow, what a terrace — huge and beautifully landscaped, with 360-degree views of downtown. There’s even a built-in kitchen for alfresco entertaining. Between Legend’s livestreamed quarantine performances and Teigen’s new show on Quibi, we’re not sure when they’ll find the time for outdoor dinner parties, but we sure hope they throw a few. We’ll be waiting for our invitation.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have welcomed not only a new baby into their lives, but also a new home. The couple recently snagged a beautiful luxury penthouse at 374 Broome St. in Nolita for $9.02 million, according to public records.
The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2,610-square-foot penthouse is big enough for Legend and Teigen’s growing family. Their son, Miles Theodore, was born on May 14, joining the happy couple and their eldest daughter Luna Simone, born in April 2016.
The pair previously lived in a 1-bedroom apartment in the same historic building — the Brewster Carriage House — before selling it for $4.5 million in August 2016. Their new penthouse, which was restored over the course of two years, has a modern design with historic touches. The windowsills and doors are fitted with wood from the original 1856 carriage house.
The focal point of the penthouse is the huge, open-plan kitchen and living room with 13-foot ceilings. Featuring dark oak cabinets, a white quartz island, Miele appliances, a custom, Italian-made faucet and an extra-large, stainless-steel sink, the kitchen must be a dream for cookbook author Teigen.
It’s not the only kitchen in the house, though; an outdoor kitchen can be found upstairs on the landscaped roof. The 1,800-foot terrace is also home to irrigated plants and an outdoor sound system. It’s a perfect spot for entertaining — which we imagine Legend and Teigen will do well and often.
The apartment has not one but two master suites, each with its own bathroom. The third bedroom is adjacent to the northern suite, making it perfect for younger kids.
The southern suite has a walk-through closet leading to the master bathroom, complete with an oversized Wetstyle soaking tub; a separate, enclosed 10-inch rainwater shower; walnut vanities; and heated flooring.
And what would a luxury penthouse be without a 130-inch motorized projection screen, Control4 home system, blackout shades and a backlit wine closet?
