A series of Bronx apartments will be available for qualified applicants in a housing lottery. G&M Properties II is offering 20 newly renovated units from three separate buildings in the University Heights and East Bronx neighborhoods. Buildings at 1636-1640 University Avenue, 100 West 174th Street and 1167 Stratford Avenue are all offering a mix of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments for people meeting the income qualifications. The buildings are all owned and operated by G&M Properties, which also takes charge of some other buildings in the area.
Rent is $980 for one-bedrooms, of which 13 are being offered; $1,183 for two-bedrooms, of which six units will be made available, and $1,359 for the three-bedroom units. Depending on the unit and the number of people who will occupy the household, the annual income of applicants’ households should fall between $34,972 and $63,060. More information can be found on NYC Housing Connect’s portal.
The buildings are located conveniently to the 4, 6, and D trains, as well as the BX3, BX4, BX11, BX13, BX27, BX35, and BX36 bus lines. All apartments come furnished with energy-efficient appliances, modern kitchens and baths and hardwood floors. The buildings also have on-site resident superintendents.
Applicants have until Sept. 16 to send in their materials. Applications are accepted either by mail or online, and winners of the lottery will be contacted within a few months of the end date.
