More recently, legendary ballet star Mikhail Baryshnikov is known for his star turn on “Sex and the City,” but he is no stranger to New York City.
In fact, after he was the principal dancer with the New York City Ballet and later the American Ballet Theater, Misha lived in an Upper West Side apartment at the famous Armstead building at 245 West 104th Street.
Now Baryshnikov and his wife, Lisa Rinehart, have a new NYC pied-a-terre, just a few blocks north of their Armstead pad, which they sold in 2013 for $1.265 million. The couple just paid $1.4 million for a 1,340-square-foot condo at another historic building — this time in South Harlem. The list price had been $1.325 million.
Barishnikov’s new address is in a prewar building that has undergone a renovation that offers 2- and 3-bedroom luxury units. Misha’s new pad is on the 5th floor and features 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
The unit has high ceilings and an open kitchen studded with Hansgrohe fixtures and stainless steel appliances.
While the brick and limestone building retains its original prewar character, amenities include a virtual doorman, bicycle storage and a gym.
