Prospect Heights is a neighborhood that sits just to the north of Prospect Park and to the east of Park Slope, and is filled with lots of great housing stock — but at a higher price point than that of greater Brooklyn. Still, you can find some great apartments in the nabe for under $600K, like 77 Eastern Parkway #1F. Our Deal of the Week is a 1-bedroom, pre-war co-op with an updated kitchen and bathroom, located just one block from Prospect Park.

Why You’ll Love It…
Some of the highlights of this unit are immediately apparent upon entering through the foyer, which has its own linen closet. The high ceilings, hardwood floors with inlays, and ample storage space are just a few. On one side of the entryway is the living room, and on another is the kitchen, both of which have two large windows. In between you’ll find the bathroom, which is also windowed and has been modernized with white subway tile, sleek gray floors, and a spacious vanity.
The eat-in kitchen features white subway tile backsplash, white cabinetry, and white countertops for a clean and bright look. Updated appliances, including a full-size oven and mounted microwave, make cooking easy and enjoyable. There’s also a pantry and enough room for a small dining table.
In the bedroom, two windows bring the unit’s grand total to seven! This room also has a closet and enough space for a queen bed.
This unit is located in a pre-war, pet-friendly building with laundry on site. But perhaps even better is the building’s stellar location just one block from Prospect Park, and near the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum, and Central Public Library. Enjoy your mornings strolling through the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, and evenings taking in free concerts in Prospect Park! The S, 2, 3, 4, 5, B, and Q trains are all nearby, offering a good deal of commuting flexibility.
…And Why You Might Not
The building doesn’t have an elevator — but the apartment is on the first floor. Plus, being located on Eastern Parkway, you may get a fair bit of noise. Thankfully, the unit’s windows point toward the back of the building instead of the front.
If you’re looking to buy in Prospect Park and spend under $600K, this one is definitely for you!
