New York City is a city of renters and rentals. The number of rentals in New York City is far higher than the number of sales and about 70 percent of the population rents rather than owns. At StreetEasy, we wanted to create a mobile experience that was focused exclusively on rentals.
Enter our new, recently launched app: StreetEasy Rentals, which you can download on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
With over 40,000 rentals on the market just last month, here are a few tips to help with your search via the StreetEasy Rentals app.
First, narrow your search:
- Once you load the app, enter your search area (e.g., Fort Greene)
- Adjust the filters with your choices (e.g., one-bedroom, $2,500)
- Then, save your search.
These steps will enable the power of instant notifications, which means you will be alerted the minute new listings are added or updated according to your search criteria.
You should also save a few searches. StreetEasy will send you notifications a couple of times a day to let you know about any updates within the search parameters. It’s a great way to know when a new listing comes to market so you can jump on it right away.
