The Price: $625,000

The median asking price for a home in Prospect Heights was $1.4 million this March, according to the StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That means our Deal of the Week is priced at below half the median asking price for the neighborhood!

Buyers who put down a 20% down payment of $125,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $4,643. This includes a mortgage payment of $3,440 and a maintenance fee of $1,203.

Why You’ll Love It…

Upon entering this unit, you’ll be greeted by lots of natural light thanks to the two oversized windows in the living area — one of which is also a door leading out to the fire escape. Light-colored hardwood floors provide a bright and classic feel, and there’s a conveniently placed closet in the entryway next to the kitchen.

Recently renovated, the kitchen features a full set of stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. There’s also a full-size fridge and oven, in addition to sleek white cabinetry. A breakfast bar provides some space to sit and a natural separation from the rest of the living area, which is spacious and could easily fit both a couch or sectional and a dining set.

Like the living area, the bedroom has two large windows and is generously sized. There’s one closet right outside of it, and a double-wide closet in the bedroom itself for maximum storage. The bathroom also has a decent amount of storage space, thanks to a medicine cabinet and large vanity.

Almost better than the unit itself is everything the pre-war building offers, including an elevator, laundry room, pet-friendly policy, part-time doorman, storage, and bike storage upon availability. There’s also a common roof deck located just one floor up from this unit. Location-wise, the building is situated right across the street from the Brooklyn Museum and mere feet from Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The 2 and 3 trains stop right across the street, and the S, 4, and 5 trains are also accessible.

…And Why You Might Not

The building is located on Eastern Parkway, so it may get a bit loud — although there’s a service road and a walking/bike path between the building and the main parkway. The kitchen is also on the smaller side and has limited storage. That said, if you’re looking to buy in increasingly popular Prospect Heights, this might be your chance!
