The Price: $375,000
The median asking price for a home in Woodside was $648,500 this September, according to the StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That means our Deal of the Week is priced a little over half the median asking price for the neighborhood!
Buyers who put down the 20% minimum down payment of $75,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $2,600. This includes a mortgage payment of $1,948 and a maintenance fee of $652, which is pretty low as far as NYC goes. Monthly payments are also below Woodside’s median asking rent, which was $3,050 this September.
Why You’ll Love It…
Enter this fully renovated unit through a spacious foyer that features one of the apartment’s standout features: its huge walk-in closet with double doors that provides tons of storage space. The foyer also features an arched entryway into the living room, one of the many pre-war details that have been preserved in the apartment’s renovation. Other such details include the original hardwood floors, solid doors, and the crown, base, and door moldings. Meanwhile, important upgrades have been made where it counts, such as installations of all-new wiring, dedicated circuits for air conditioning units, and dimmable light switches.
The kitchen also boasts new upgrades, such as Whirlpool, GE, and LG stainless steel appliances. In addition to a dishwasher, the suite of appliances includes a gas range with a griddle top and a refrigerator with an ice maker. You should have ample room for storage thanks to the mix of cabinetry and open shelving. Beautiful stone countertops provide plenty of prep space, and the stone is also used on the windowsill and the pass-through window to the living room.
Speaking of the living room, this room is big enough for both living and dining furniture and has a large southwest-facing window. The bedroom can accommodate a queen bed and has two exposures: one facing southwest and the other facing northwest. You’ll find another closet in the bedroom, plus one outside the windowed bathroom.
This apartment is located in Boulevard Gardens, a 10-building co-op on 11 acres of land with lush landscaping. An elevator, laundry room, bicycle storage, parking lot, and overnight security are included in the amenities — plus, the low maintenance fees cover electricity. The building is located on the west side of Woodside, just bordering Astoria, and is a mere block away from ample bars and restaurants on 30th Avenue. The M and R trains and the LIRR are all nearby for easy commutes.
…And Why You Might Not
Sadly, the co-op doesn’t allow dogs, but does permit cats. There aren’t too many other drawbacks here, especially if you’re looking in Queens. For easy access to Astoria and so many modern upgrades, the price of this one is hard to beat!
