About
Built in 1868, this five-story mansion was designed in the Second Empire Style by architect Stephen Decatur Hatch. Hatch also designed many landmarked buildings in New York including the famous Gilsey House Hotel, the Robbins & Appleton Building and the New York Life Insurance Company Building, to name just a few.
118 East 18th Street (also known as The Sarah Feldman House) was converted from a private home to a multi-family building in 1964, but the original details were left mostly intact
