About

Greenpoint’s iconic Mechanics and Traders Bank building originally built in 1895. The building has been noted as being architecturally significant for its ornate facade in the classically inspired Renaissance Revival style. The building itself is landmarked, and composed of large red brownstones, red brick and ornate terra cotta detailed accents. The third floor features huge arched windows and two oval lunette windows, with terra cotta spandrels and cornice.
