About

16 East 82nd Street sits on one of the most unique blocks in Manhattan, known as the gateway to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Set in the heart of the Metropolitan Museum Historic District, this grand and stately townhouse was built in the Queen Anne style by builder-architect Edward Kilpatrick in 1888 and was first occupied by Van Wyck and Mary Brinckerhoff. 16 East 82nd Street is five stories tall with intricate faade details, including three round-arched windows (formerly with stoop entry), a dentiled cornice and a steep roof with two gabled dormers.
