Built in 1892 and designed by Maynard & Wistairr, 228 West Broadway—also known as 8 North Moore Street—is a six-story Renaissance Revival loft building commissioned by developer Myron W. Dow . Its distinctive L-shaped footprint fronts both West Broadway and North Moore, with twin façades of red brick, terra cotta, and cast iron that showcase the craftsmanship of late-19th-century commercial architecture. A cast-iron storefront supports five stories of grouped windows framed by carved spandrels and masonry piers.
