243 Riverside Drive ---The Cliff Dwelling. Originally built as an apartment hotel, the Cliff Dwelling layouts make the most of an irregular plot with the major rooms facing west onto Riverside Drive or south onto 96th Street. You’ll see in the elaborate terra cotta ornamental work on the exterior of the building double-headed snakes, mountain lions, and an assortment of Native American imagery by Herman Lee Meader. The lobby features Native American designs in red, green tan and black tiles, the zigzag designs extending to the elevator cages.
