About

25 Bleecker is part of the NoHo East Historic District. According to a report by the Landmarks Preservation Commission(dated June 23, 2003), the building was part of a row of brick Federal-style row houses that were constructed in the first decades of the 19th century for middle class New Yorkers who were moving uptown from lower Manhattan. Built in 1830, 25 Bleecker is one of a few of these structures that remain. As new construction was built later in the century, many of the row houses were converted to boarding houses or gave way to commercial use.
