About
27 West 67th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue is one of the most important apartment houses in the history of New York City, which was erected in 1903 and converted to 32 cooperative apartments in 1973. This 12-story, red-and-black-brick building is one of better “artist studio” buildings in New York. It was designed by Sturgis & Simonson and is the oldest of the 8 buildings that comprise the West 67th Street Artists’ Colony History District for the United States Department of the Interior’s National Park Service on the block.
