Designed by architects Simon Schwartz and Arthur Gross in a Neo-Renaissance style, and built in 1912 before World War I, 271 Central Park West stands on the north corner of 87th Street and Central Park West, overlooking Central and the city. With an elegant, small lobby, this twelve-story, sophisticated intimate cooperative was constructed with just two apartments per floor and a penthouse. The iron work on the double set of front doors creates a sense of privacy as you enter to be greeted by the doorman and escorted up in the manned elevator.
