404 Riverside Drive—The Strathmore was built in 1909 by the design team of Schwartz and Gross. This twelve-story building has a distinctive entrance marquee that was originally made of glass with dramatic five-globed torcheres positioned at each side. Rusticated limestone forms the four-story base of the building with dark redbrick comprising the middle stories and a three-story limestone and terra cotta capital rises to meet the rooftop cornice.
