Boerum Hill’s Premier Co-op, The Ex Lax Building was the factory, built circa 1920 combined with the eastern adjacent buildings which were formerly a bottling plant. The structure was converted in 1981 into 57 cooperative residential units (later the conversion of the loading dock brought the total to 58), and two ground floor retail tenants. The building embraces its past with Ex-Lax advertising memorabilia on display in the vestibule and nods to its industrial past throughout the common areas.
