45 Grove Street is an 1830s Federal-style landmark building in the Historic District of the West Village located between the triangle of Waverly Place, Christopher Street and West 4th Street. Before the mansion was converted into 4-story walk-up 15 unit apartment building with 2 commercial units on the lower level, it was an Underground Railroad safe house and has ties to 16th U.S. Abraham Lincoln’s assassin, John Wilkes Booth.
