About

The Barclay Mansion is one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts mansions in New York City. This Beaux Arts Mansion was built originally for Mr. and Mrs. Reginald G. Barclay in 1902-04 by noted architect C.P.H. Gilbert. He was known for his French Baroque and Beaux Arts facades of which this property is a classic example. Other notable works of C.P.H. Gilbert include the neighboring Fletcher mansion at 79th and Fifth Avenue, The Converse Mansion 3 East 78th Street as well as the Otto Khan mansion at 1 East 91st Street, and the Warburg mansion at 92nd and Fifth.
