About
561 Broadway “The Singer Building”
Also known as the “The Little Singer Building,” this L-shaped structure, sharing a Prince Street address, was designed by Ernest Flagg in 1902. Flagg, a Brooklyn born architect was trained in Paris and pioneered many trends that shaped modern architecture in the decades to follow. The extensive use of glass, cast iron, and the exposure of the structural elements contribute to the unique look. The distinctive exterior features Juliet balconies on both the Broadway and Prince Street facades.
