6 Rivington Street

6 Rivington was purposely built as the only non-charitable lodging house exclusively for women in the city, where at the time rooms could be had for 15 to 30 cents a night. Today, it is a 6 unit, co-op loft building. There is one loft per floor and although the building is a walk up, there are shorter than average stair risers, making it an easier walk.
