About

This rare 4-story Townhouse in the heart of the West Village’s Historic District, was built in 1849 by Stacey Pitcher, a ubiquitous 19th-century brick mason known for his fine craftsmanship. Originally designed as a residence with a retail unit on the ground level, it is thought to have been intended by Mr. Pitcher for his own living and business quarters. Recently landmarked, the exterior retains the distinctive roof cornice and proportions of the Greek revival style in which it was built.
