840 Park Avenue is an extremely attractive prewar, light colored house built in 1912. It was designed by George and Edward Blum, and converted to a cooperative in 1953. The building has a symmetrical placement of balconies and an arched entrance. Aesthetically pleasing, it has a rusticated limestone base and some attractive wrought-iron balconies. The building has only 12 stories.Close to Lenox Hill Hospital, boutiques shopping and art galleries along Madison Avenue and steps from the 77th Street subway, make this building one of the most conveniently located on the Upper Eastside.
