About

Designed in the Beaux Arts style, but heavily reliant on the influences of Art Nouveau and the Viennese Succession style, Emery Roth designed the Hotel Belleclaire in 1903 as a residence hotel for upper class families. Located on the corner of 77th and Broadway, the hotel attracted famous guests that included Maxim Gorky, Mark Twain and Babe Ruth. In 2008, the building was renovated into a 240 room affordable neighborhood hotel.
