Built in 1902, Rutherford Place is a rare pre-war condominium that was originally a gift to the city from J.P. Morgan and a birthing hospital where almost 60 percent of Manhattan hospital births took place. The building, spanning 9 stories and 127 units, was converted in the mid-1980s to rentals and later to a condominium in 2003. It’s been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
