The Hohner building, constructed between 1894 and 1895, was converted from commercial lofts into residential apartments in 2001. Originally a single building, it was later divided into two separate halves, each recognized as its own building with independent condo associations. This building’s association is called The Soho Apartments.

The two halves have separate entrances—Mercer Street for the west line of apartments and Broadway for the east line—while sharing key features like a rear atrium, cooling towers, and water tanks.
