About
Originally known as the Imperial, this Neo-Grec brownstone, completed in 1883 by the architect Frederick T. Camp, is often described as a smaller cousin of the Dakota. Both buildings – completed a year apart — boast apartments with unusually high ceilings, original architectural details, working fireplaces and stained glass windows. Both were also among the earliest apartment buildings constructed in Manhattan during the early boom in luxury housing.
