The Volney Residences at 23 East 74th Street is a full-service coop located between Madison and Fifth Avenue. Considered to be one of the prettiest UES blocks, this former hotel was built in the Italian-Renaissance-palazzo style in the 1920’s and was home to notable artists like Dorothy Parker. The Volney was converted from a residence hotel in 1985 to a co-op. The façade is limestone with a canopied awning and a landscape walkway. The elegant wood paneled lobby welcomes you to this gracious building.
