Complex: Queensview

Queensview is a set of 14 brick buildings surrounding a central park area at the intersections of Crescent Street, 33rd Drive, 21st Street, and 34th Avenue. Each building offers 4 units per floor and 13 residential floors. Units are comprised of 1 bedrooms, 2, bedrooms, and 3 bedroom apartments, the 3 bedrooms with an extra half-bathroom. These buildings all have their own laundry rooms. Outdoor parking is available on the premises. Additional amenities include community rooms, playground, basketball court, on-site voting station, nursery school, and on-site management / maintenance offices. Included in the monthly maintenance here is the gas, water, heat and electricity. Shareholders do pay a nominal fee for their own air conditioner units. Cats are permitted here but dogs are not allowed in the apartments or on the grounds.
At its inception in 1950, Queensview Homes was created as affordable housing for shareholders on 9 acres of green space in Long Island City, NY. On March 5th, 2019, the board elected to go public and thus the long-standing waiting list for turnover at Queensview began to dissolve in favor of an open-market structure whereby shareholders can sell their apartments directly to competitive buyers, subject to board approval.
