Complex: Seward Park Housing Cooperative

The Seward Park community, nestled on the south side of Grand Street, is the gateway to Co-op Village from the west. The towers ring a vast, private locked park, which has been newly landscaped with abundant flowering planters. In the evening it’s illuminated by charming old-fashioned, arched street lamps. The spacious and colorful outdoor playground features a water park, a warm weather treat for Seward Park children and their playmates. All of these delights sit atop an underground parking garage.

Each of the lobbies in the four buildings has a unique inspirational mural depicting heroes of American history, politics, science and other achievements. The lobbies are attended and access is secured by a door buzzer system. The elevators have been renovated and all apartments have been furnished with easy to clean windows. The fully equipped state-of-the-art exercise room offers cable television while you work out on treadmills, bicycles, ellipticals, Stairmasters and circuit training machines and is open 24 hours accommodating every schedule. The laundry rooms, too, are available for use round-the-clock and are monitored by security cameras so you can feel safe even in the wee hours. Two indoor community rooms and a children’s playroom offer gathering places and activities for the community’s seniors and youngsters.

Cultural offerings are literally steps away at the neighboring historic Abrons Arts Center and Harry De Jur Playhouse. The Co-ops are adjacent to the Seward Park branch of the New York Public Library and the post office. Seward is especially convenient to the shops and services on Grand Street including a nice wine shop, a full service spa, and LES destinations Kossar’s Bialy’s and the Doughnut Plant. M14, M9 and M22 bus service will bring you close to home; F, J, M and Z trains are around the corner on Delancey and Essex.
