We introduced the Launch segment of StreetEasy® Experts to help agents generate more connections and accelerate their growth in the program. Participating Experts enjoy additional flexibility in selecting the neighborhoods where they can receive connections at entry-level price points. Now, to ensure you and your buyer connections are further set up for success, we’ll be making an important change to the way Experts qualify for neighborhoods in the Launch segment.

Here’s a quick overview of Experts Launch, what’s changing, and why.

What is Experts Launch?

Launch is a segment that currently allows Experts to opt into any neighborhood — including ones where they do not have deal history — to receive connections. The segment also connects buyers with great agents who provide quality service at all price points. Participating Experts can rapidly grow their experience in the program by appearing on more StreetEasy listings and receiving a more consistent flow of connections.

The Launch segment is currently invite-only. If interested, please discuss with your Business Advisor.

What’s changing, and why

Experts will soon have the ability to opt into neighborhoods based on their Launch conversion history. Eligibility for neighborhoods will be based on the number of Launch connections you’ve converted — generally, the more Launch conversions you have, the more neighborhoods you’ll qualify for.

The types of access and criteria to unlock each are as follows:

• Initial Access: All Experts eligible for Launch can opt into these neighborhoods.
• Expanded Access: Experts who’ve converted 3+ Launch connections, with at least 1 conversion in the past year, can opt into an expanded list of neighborhoods.
• Full Access: Experts who’ve converted 5+ Launch connections, with at least 1 conversion in the past year, can opt into all neighborhoods.

As you close more deals from Launch connections, you’ll unlock more neighborhoods. Eligible conversions are based on in-contract date, meaning you unlock access upon reporting a deal as in-contract. You may lose access if your last deal went into contract more than one year ago.

StreetEasy firmly believes in the value of buyer agent representation, and buyers who attempt to connect with an Expert should receive a timely response from a qualified agent. Furthermore, Launch participants should be able to maximize their opportunities for connections in the neighborhoods they want to serve, while receiving a manageable number of connections that is within their bandwidth. 

For Experts looking to diversify their neighborhood expertise, this update will allow you to focus on neighborhoods where there is market potential, less competition, and more affordability as you round out your skill set and expand your book of business.  

How to manage your Launch neighborhoods

If you’re already a Launch participant or have been invited to the segment, go to Agent Tools and navigate to Campaigns, where you’ll see a banner for Experts Launch. Make sure you’ve opted into the segment. (If you don’t see the banner, discuss joining Launch with your Business Advisor.)

Click Manage Neighborhoods to bring up a map and list of the Launch neighborhoods you qualify for. Check the box next to a neighborhood to opt in or out.

In the banner, you can also hover the ? icon to see how many Launch deals you need to unlock more neighborhoods.
