A West Village resident since 1990 - I love the small-town feel of the Village... "I feel like I live in Mayberry - and go out to Manhattan" is how I describe it. In 2001, after 10 years traveling the world as a Buyer for Toys R Us in the International Division, I decided it was time for a career change. I applied my business skills to buying and selling NYC Real Estate! In my own co-op, I recommended the purchase of a first floor apartment and managed its conversion/renovation to a retail store - no easy feat when dealing with both the NYC DOB and Landmarks. The store design was approved by Landmarks on the first design review. No changes required - an extremely rare occurrence! This apartment conversion strengthened the co-op's financials and has paid for a number of building repairs/improvements (in excess of $600,000) - using the rental income from the store rather than shareholder assessments. The store is Baobab on Bleecker Street. I have worked with buyers and sellers on every type of purchase or sale in NYC - co-ops, condos and townhouses.
