Matthew Berkson

Born in Westchester and raised in the New York City area, Matthew Berkson has lived nearly his entire life in New York. You could say that New York is in his blood, and his vivacious energy and sharp intellect are just some of the reasons for his success in the fast-paced Manhattan real estate market. In addition, having lived throughout the US including Florida, Michigan, and California, as well as having traveled extensively internationally, Matthew’s knowledge of real estate markets is vast, and his worldly experience allows him to work with any type of personality seamlessly.

What Matthew brings to Corcoran is not just experience and hard work, but an impassioned focus on customer service as he is a multiple winner of the annual “Top Customer Service” real estate agent award. “It truly is all about people,” says Matthew. “They aren’t just your clients, but human beings, and purchasing or selling a home is a very personal and emotional event in their lives. My paramount focus is to ensure that my clients are not just fully informed and comfortable with the process, but elated with any transaction we work on together.”

With customer service as the foundation of Matthew’s real estate career, he matches it with both a fiery work-ethic and extensive knowledge of New York City real estate. In a nearly decade-long career, Matthew has sold millions of dollars worth of real estate representing buyers, sellers, and investors in all locations throughout Manhattan. In addition to earning the overall “Top Producer” award for his office several times, Matthew has also earned the nickname the “Real Estate Doctor” for being “on call” and reachable nearly 24/7 to assist any client.

As well as servicing buyers and sellers in the sales market, Matthew is also well-versed in the high-end rental market here in Manhattan. Over the years he has completed several rental transactions north of $10,000 a month including one for $32,000, which earned him another award for the “Largest Rental Transaction” at the time.

Overall, Matthew’s goal is to be his clients’ “broker for life,” as he starts any professional relationship with the mindset that he will work with a customer on every sale, purchase, or rental his they require as their life grows and needs change. “There is no greater compliment I can receive than a client coming back to work with me a second, third, or fourth time, or referring me to someone they know,” says Matthew. “That is the greatest testament that you have impacted their lives in a positive way and what makes me truly excited about the career I have.”

Prior to his real estate career, Matthew was an aspiring filmmaker having lived in Los Angeles working for such companies as Turner Broadcasting, MTV Networks, and Miramax among others. He is still incredibly passionate about film and even shot a short documentary earlier this year.
