The day Audrey Edwards sold her first little 1-bedroom co-op apartment in Greenwich Village for four times what she’d paid for it four years before was the day she fell in love with real estate. That was almost 30 years ago, and she still loves real estate—viewing property, buying and selling property, renovating property, and most of all, as a broker, helping clients and customers turn their real estate deals into real estate dreams-come-true.

Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens, Audrey was an independent broker with an office in Prospect Heights, where she has lived for 25 years, specializing in the sale of cooperative apartments primarily in Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene and the Clinton Hill areas of Brooklyn. Audrey brings two decades of experience and professionalism to the field, representing both sellers and buyers; and over the years has developed a reputation for honesty, integrity and forthrightness.

During her years as a real estate professional Audrey has continued her career as a freelance journalist, writing on business, finance and real estate, among other subjects. Her story, “Co-op Board Members Get a Baptism by Fire,” appeared as the lead story on the front page of the Sunday Real Estate Section of The New York Times in 1980, marking the first time the paper had given coverage to the newly emerging power of board members in New York co-ops.

As a lover of real estate Audrey is quite naturally also a real estate investor, having bought and sold personal properties in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hamptons and upstate New York. In her previous career as a magazine editor where she was executive editor and editor for Essence magazine; executive editor and vice president of editorial operations for Black Enterprise magazine; and a senior editor at Family Circle and More magazines, she developed wide contacts in the media field. Many of her clients and customers come from this profession and demand the kind of excellent service and expertise that Audrey has become known for.
