A resident of Manhattan and the Hamptons for over 20 and 10 years respectively, Brinkley hails from Annapolis, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University, and completed continuing education courses in New York in Film, Theatre and Real Estate. Prior to making real estate her career, she worked in sales, PR, and entertainment.
