Mercedes Lima

Mercedes Lima is a Principal of News Realty in Jackson Heights, New York. She began her career as a real estate professional in 1982 focusing on residential properties in northern Queens and ultimately expanding her business to purchasing, rehabilitating and selling properties throughout the borough. Together with her business partner, Mercedes has purchased and developed property in Queens and Manhattan for new construction projects including single family homes, multi-family homes, condominiums and mixed-use properties. Her business also includes property management.

Personal career highlights include the negotiation and purchase of the landmark Queensborough Building on 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights, the sale and negotiation of most of the hundreds of homes and condominiums built by Manhasset Homes USA, LLC, an affiliate of News Realty, including the Horizon Condominiums in Woodside, Queens, and the negotiation of leases with commercial tenants such as Starbucks Coffee and Signature Bank.

Mercedes is a Cuban immigrant who arrived from Cuba with her parents and siblings in 1967. She lives with her husband on Long Island and together they have two daughters, two sons-in-law and four loving grandchildren.
