Prior to his real estate career, Shakti worked at a top-tier investment bank and at a Private Equity firm. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where he was also President of his graduating class.

Shakti was born in Fort Greene, Brooklyn and raised in Southern California. He currently lives in Prospect Heights with his wife and their daughter. His favorite pastimes include real estate investing, renovation, tennis, squash, golf and world travel.
