Janelle James

Janelle’s Passion for architecture started at an early age which set the stage for a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Technology from New York College of Technology. Studying both Architecture and Construction Management, Janelle gained invaluable knowledge in Drafting & Design, Structural stability, topographical and land surveying. Upon graduating she interned at Leonard Colchamiro Architects and Planners, freelanced with Bouratgolou Architects in Brooklyn, eventually moving on to MJ Macaluso architects. Having been part of the design team for multiple new development condo properties in Park Slope since 2009, Janelle branched out to become the office construction on-site inspector and expeditor working closely with the NYC Dept. of Buildings to review objections, issue permits, coordinate inspections, obtain final certificate of occupancy etc. Her role expanded into navigating Finance Department, FDNY, ECB Water and Sewer Board etc. Moving on from Architecture, Janelle interned at NYC Dept. of Design and Construction where she worked with the Structural Department overseeing city agencies structural upgrades; DDC exposed her to new and innovative products vying for city contracts. “It amazes me to see Brooklyn grow since I was privy to many of the design concepts that were discussed many years ago.” Whether it is a developer acquiring properties with high floor area potential, an investor designing property with a targeted buyer in mind or helping a homeowner who is held back by violations; Janelle understands every step of the process and has the experience to keep her client’s on schedule. With regard to new development, Janelle enjoys all of the intricate questions, details and problem solving that comes along with retro fitting a building or building on vacant land. Class 2 Filing Representative, 20M + in New Development Sales, Staging and Pricing expertise; Janelle works with developers, architects, engineers, expediters, planners, interior designers, cost estimators, stager's etc. to bring your transaction to a successful close and on-time. An avid traveler since age 6, Janelle has been fortunate to travel across the globe siting one of her favorite places “La Sagrada Familia” in Barcelona and Calatrava’s Milwalkee Museum of Modern Art Museum.
