Hello! My name is Luther Hines and I am Compass’s local area expert for the Brooklyn market that I love to call home. I have lived in Brooklyn for 17 years and enjoy the diversity that Brooklyn’s nabes offer. When I first moved here from Austin, Texas I got settled in Bedford-Stuyvesant. I then moved to Park Slope and now reside in Sunset Park where I get to enjoy the beauty and culture that the park has to offer to the many individuals and families in my neighborhood. Before I joined Compass, I was an office manager/real estate agent for a boutique brokerage firm that specializes in brownstone Brooklyn; namely Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, Park Slope and the many other environs throughout the downtown Brooklyn area. I love real estate and how space can impact how we live and interact with our community. The greatest joy I get in a real estate transaction is knowing that I helped someone achieve their dream or goal of buying, selling or renting a property. I care about meeting new people and learning their stories. One of the best things I enjoy about real estate is the constant evolution requiring me to stay abreast with trends, policies, and allowing me to be a forever student. I started my professional career in Texas as a part-time teller with Bank of America and moved up the ranks to become a Trust Administrative Officer with US Trust Private Wealth Management. I was with them for nine years and in 2010 I chose to become a real estate agent and have not looked back since. After eleven years with my previous brokerage, I chose to move to Compass because we value inclusivity, creativity, technology and determination.
