Stacey Kanbar

With more than 20 years of experience representing both buyers and sellers, Stacey Kanbar continues to get excited about what’s behind the next door, how she can market her next listing or match her clients with a home ideal for their lifestyle and budget. She brings her background in art as well as her eye for good design to her work, helping sellers position and market their property to net the best price, and helping buyers see and maximize the potential of a new space. Stacey is known for bringing humanity, thoughtfulness, and patience to the process so her clients can enjoy their search and take the time they need to find their the next place they will live; she measures success in terms of client happiness. As a result to her approach, Stacey has built her business on repeat clients and referrals. These same qualities have earned Stacey an excellent reputation throughout the brokerage community, establishing long term-term relationships with fellow brokers, facilitating smoother transactions for all parties. In addition to representing buyers and sellers of condominiums and townhouses, Stacey offers well-honed expertise in Manhattan’s co-op apartment market. From choosing quality buildings to providing hands-on assistance throughout the board approval process, she enables her clients to navigate the complexities of the co-op market with as much ease and efficiency as one can expect from what can be a time consuming and intimidating process without the right guidance. Prior to joining Compass, Stacey was a top-producing agent for 13 years with Brown Harris Stevens and for 10 years with William B. May. Her career previously was in the arts where she worked for the Leo Castelli gallery, Blum Hellman Gallery and Christie’s Auction House. Stacey graduated with a B.F.A in Fine Art from the University of Michigan Magna Cum Laude and is a member of the University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design Alumni Association. Stacey is personally committed to humanitarian causes, especially those involving the education and welfare of children. In this role, she sits on the board, and is co-chair of the New Gen Board of AMIT, an organization that educates underprivileged children in Israel. She is also a supporter of The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and is on the Board of Sisterhood at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun. Stacey and her husband David (an entrepreneur in the alcoholic beverage industry) live on the Upper East Side with their two children, both of whom attend The Ramaz School. When not working or with her children, Stacey can be found taking a hot yoga class or walking her Labradoodle Lucca.
