Kathy Pontone

Katherine A. Pontone, GRI, SRES, e-PRO. I began real estate career in 1982. I worked with Ritebuy Home Sales.Inc until the summer of 1985, and opened Bright Horizons Realty, Inc in Sheepshead Bay. In 1986 I joined the Brooklyn Board of Realtors and has been an active member ever since. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Brooklyn Board in different positions throughout the years and was its President in2007. I was also actively involved in the South Shore MLS and served as its President from 1990 to 1993. In 1995 I was named Brooklyn’s REALTOR of the Year. In 1997 I earned my GRI designation. I joined the Staten Island Board of REALTORS as a secondary board member. From 1999 to the 2010 I served on the Professional Standards Committee for the Staten Island Board of REALTORS. In 2007 I was name Chairperson of the New York State Association of REALTORS Professional Standards Committee and in 2008 until the present time I am Chairperson of the Brooklyn Board of REALTORS Professional Standard Committee. I was again named Brooklyn’s REALTOR of the year. In 2007 I earned her SRES. designation form the National Association of REALTORS and am committed to educating our aging population’s concerns for their housing needs. I was part of the team that worked to merge The South Shore M.L.S and the Mid County M.L.S. This was achieved in 2003 and the Brooklyn New York Multiple Listing Service was formed. I was honored to be elected as its first president and served in that position until May 2005. I presently sit on that board as a director. My present term will expire in May 2019.
