About Mickey Murray
Buyers and sellers of New York City properties trust Mickey's guidance and resources. Mickey's astute attention to the needs of her clients teamed with her extensive knowledge of neighborhoods and buildings makes the process of buying or selling a New York home seamless and even fun. Sellers rely on her analysis of the market and pricing acumen as well as her hands-on approach when it comes to staging and preparing houses for market. Mickey loves the challenge of developing an effective marketing plan that both tells the story of the house and gets maximum local and global print and internet exposure so that the properties she represents find the perfect match as quickly as possible. When working with buyers it's her love of the hunt and making sure her customers have the inside track to close the deal and get the home they love.
A native of Chicago, Mickey studied Theatre Arts at St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana before moving to New York City to work in television production. She found her way to NBC, first working as an NBC page and then working for The Johnny Carson Show, The Dick Cavett Show, HBO original programming and many others. In 1982 Mickey and her family moved to Sneden's Landing, New York. Mickey followed her entrepreneurial spirit by opening a rustic home goods shop in Piermont, NY called Whispering Pines, Things for the Cabin, inspired by her love of the Adirondacks and northern Wisconsin. Later moving to Westport, CT with her two sons in 1996, Mickey used both her merchandising and marketing skills to grow Whispering Pines into a nationally-recognized, award winning catalog and ecommerce business. During her years in Connecticut she served on several community nonprofit and educational boards including her son’s school, St. Luke’s in New Canaan, Ct. and Lawyers for Children, a New York City based non-profit organization that represents children in the foster care system.
After raising her sons, Mickey moved back to New York and lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Mickey is a member of two amazing book clubs in New York City and continues her love of New York theatre as a producer (Abby's Song) and as an advisor and patron. She is a past member of the Fairfield University, College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board, and sits on the Board of Directors of AmericanTowns.com, a web-based national network serving over 1,500 towns with local news and community event information. Mickey is a collector of 20th and 21st century black and white photography. She also finds great enjoyment working on her real estate business and serving her clients. Mickey is a member of the River Club in New York City. She is also a REBNY member.
